Let Me Leave Your App Faster
I can’t bear wasting any more time figuring out where Atlassian put the page that lets me see the tickets in my board’s backlog - like why is that project I accidentally clicked on from that doc 2 years ago still dominating my “Recents”. And why has Workday hidden my holiday requests under a maze of hyperlinks complete with dead ends and “return to starts”. In fact I don’t think that I want anything more from the software I use than allowing me to get what I need in the absolute least amount of interactions.
As a human in 2026, I spend my days in a sea of SaaS and when I find myself struggling to do the one thing an app promises, I am immediately derailed. And I’m aware this sounds dramatic and maybe I should just get on with it but the seeming lack of care (or straight up malicious UX design) is hard to ignore.
So really, all I’m asking is that we agree to prioritise giving users the smoothest path to the job they’re paying you for. I know we all have the metrics, we’re just focusing on the wrong ones. The best apps I use are the ones I don’t have to think about. I am able to get in, get out and back on with my day.
